PATTAYA, Thailand — Police are investigating the death of a tourist who apparently drowned while snorkel diving near Pattaya.
Authorities told CDNN that the body of Andrei Astafyev, 40, was found floating face down in the sea off Yonyom Beach.
Police said Astafyev was staying at the Island View hotel.
Witnesses said he entered the sea near the hotel to go diving in the afternoon.
An autopsy has been scheduled to determine the cause of death.
