GOZO, Malta — Police are investigating a scuba diving accident that killed a German tourist.
Authorities told CDNN the scuba diving accident victim was a 50-year-old woman who encountered problems while scuba diving at Mgarr ix-Xini, in the limits of Xewkija.
Police said they received a call for help at 11:30 a.m. and a medical team from Gozo General Hospital rushed to the scene.
Attempts to revive the woman failed and she was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
Police said Duty magistrate P. Coppini has launched an inquiry into the fatal scuba diving accident.
