Paramedics rushed an injured diver to hospital after a scuba diving accident in Florida.
Authorities have not yet identified the scuba diving accident victim but said he was in his 40s and visiting from North Carolina.
At about 10:30 am, Palm Beach County Fire-Rescue responded to a call for help from the boat crew of the Emerald, which is owned and operated by Emerald Dive Charters.
The boat crew notified authorities of an injured scuba diver emergency after the victim resurfaced from a 40-meter deep dive complaining of chest pains and numbness, symptoms of potentially fatal decompression sickness.
Palm Beach County Fire-Rescue Capt. Don DeLucia told reporters the victim was taken to Jupiter Medical Center after a Tequesta Fire Department rescue boat met the Emerald dive boat about three miles out and brought the man to shore.
Hospital officials have not yet commented on the condition of the scuba diving accident victim.
