A man died in hospital after an accident at Lake Pleasant on Sunday afternoon.
Authorities told CDNN that Ronald Burfield, 46, was fatally injured while scuba diving in the Erie County lake.
Witnesses said Sheriff's Scuba Team divers were training at the lake when the accident happened and found the victim at a depth of about four meters.
They pulled him to shore and started CPR until paramedics arrived.
Burfield was taken to Hamot Medical Center but died on Monday at 3:20 am.
Erie County Coroner Lyell Cook said an autopsy was performed to determine the cause of death but lab results could take a couple of weeks to complete.
