A Melbourne escape artist has honoured Harry Houdini with a daring underwater aquarium stunt.
Cosentino endured 3 minutes 39 seconds without air and a jammed padlock before freeing his shackles and successfully swimming to the surface.
He said he had to "mentally block out" the circling wildlife — which included grey nurse sharks and stingrays measuring up to 3.6m in length.
Cosentino's act was created to mark the 100-year anniversary of Houdini's Yarra River performance in Melbourne.
